Dani + Bobby’s Romantic Engagement Session at Onondaga Lake Park

As a Syracuse wedding photographer, I love it when unexpected changes lead to the most incredible photos. Dani and Bobby’s engagement session in early July is a perfect example. We originally had another location planned, but when we arrived, it was unexpectedly closed. With the light fading fast, we pivoted to Onondaga Lake Park, and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made.

The timing couldn’t have been better. The summer sky transformed into cotton candy shades of pink and blue, casting the lake in a gorgeous glow. Dani and Bobby looked stunning in their outfits, which popped beautifully against the luminous sunset. Using flash photography, I directed them through natural poses that highlighted their connection and the breathtaking scenery. These Onondaga Lake engagement photos turned out romantic, timeless, and full of joy.

We also had time to chat about their wedding plans and how they were spending the rest of their trip here before heading home. Dani had her makeup trial earlier that day with Luminous Beauty by Hannah, and she looked absolutely stunning for the photos.

Sessions like this are why I love being a Syracuse and Central New York wedding photographer. Every couple brings their own style and story, and even when plans change, the results can be more magical than expected. I’m counting down the days until Dani and Bobby’s wedding at Beak and Skiff. I know it’s going to be unforgettable.
