Anjelica + Tyler's Elegant Finger Lakes Wedding

Anjelica and Tyler stumbled across my Instagram page in 2019 and next thing I knew, I had their elegant finger lakes wedding on my 2021 schedule. It was a long (loooong) two years, but the big day finally arrived and it was sheer perfection. Stepping onto the grounds of their venue, the Inns of Aurora, felt like you stepped back in time, which fit this classy wedding to a T.

The couple both attended the different schools in Buffalo, but met until years later when they were connected through mutual friends. By then, they were both teachers, and the bond was fast and strong. They became engaged in August 2019 and started planning their wedding immediately.

Even though Anjelica and Tyler chose to wait until the ceremony to see each other, we were still able to get a good portion of their portraits done beforehand, which can save a lot of time and stress later. After we wrapped those up, everyone hopped into golf carts and headed down the street to St. Patrick’s Church for a traditional Catholic ceremony.

Once the ceremony was complete, we went back to the Inns of Aurora for photos. The property has this historical site right by the water made up of amazing stone ruins. It created such a unique backdrop for photos with the family, wedding party, and newlyweds. Despite the rising temps, everyone did amazing, including Anjelica’s rockstar Maid of Honor who created some floating veil magic on a day with no wind.

Tyler’s one request for our timeline was he and Anjelica be done with photos in time for their cocktail hour, which I’m happy to report we accomplished! I always build extra padding into my wedding day timelines, which often allows my couples the flexibility to attend their cocktail hour if they choose (or sneak away for a few minutes if that’s more their style).

The reception was held in a breathtaking indoor-outdoor space filled with greenery and Rae Dunn details. Anjelica and Tyler made their grand entrance and immediately went into their first dance, followed by parent dances. During toasts, members of the wedding party gushed about their love for the happy couple. It was so clear to everyone in the room how much support they had from family and friends.

With my day wrapping up, I made sure to grab the newlyweds for a few shots after dark with their neon sign and wedding cake. Thank you to Anjelica and Tyler! It was such a gorgeous day all around - I’m so honored to have been a part of your finger lakes wedding!
