Spring Mini Sessions at The Healing Space in Syracuse, NY

Spring mini sessions make me absolutely giddy! Besides being able to spend all day taking pictures (obviously my favorite thing), it’s a wonderful chance to reconnect with past clients and friends. All the proceeds from these sessions went toward my 2021 Walk MS fundraiser. I have Multiple Sclerosis and it’s really important for me to give back to others and walk towards a future free of MS!

For this event, I used The Healing Space, a massage and Reiki studio located in downtown Syracuse and run by the sweetest entrepreneur, Rebecca. It ended up being a stellar location to turn into a makeshift photography studio on this chilly spring day! The crisp white walls, worn wood floors, and plethora of plants really let my clients shine.

First up was Julia, John, and their two sweet boys. I photographed their gorgeous backyard wedding a couple of years back and I love watching them grow as a couple and a family. The boys did a wonderful job taking direction and they ended up with some really cute siblings photos!

Next up were my friends Emily and Wesley (some of my favorite subjects from over the years). They drove up from the Catskills for a little couples photoshoot. One of the best parts about taking their picture is just how relaxed and comfortable they are in front of the camera. I never have to worry too much about posing, and it’s so much fun to just chat and catch up while I work. I strive for every session to feel this way!

Lastly was baby Mila. I photographed her the year before with parents Emily and Kobe as a newborn lifestyle shoot. A year had passed and it was time for some 1 year photos! Mila had fun exploring the space and Emily brought a bunch of adorable props and outfits to personalize the session and add variety to the images. We even had a little cake smash! Mila was extremely wary of what was happening, but it wasn’t long before fistfuls of frosting made their way into her mouth.

I’m planning some spring mini sessions for this April (2022) to once again raise money for Walk MS! Keep an eye on my social media for the announcement. You can also make a monetary donation to my fundraiser by clicking here.
