Megan + Barrett’s Forest Engagement Photos

Megan and Barrett were already married when they reached out to me. They never got to do engagement photos, so we made a plan to take some! They brought me to some acreage of land they own, and we spent our time exploring and taking plenty of forest engagement photos.

I have a real soft spot for sessions in the woods. It’s actually how I originally discovered my love for photography, and looking at their images takes me back to that magic I first felt! On this particular day, the morning light was shining through the trees in the best way, giving an ethereal feel to the photos.

Megan and Barrett brought along their two sons, who borrowed Mom and Dad’s phones to play photographers right alongside me. They made for perfect interns! We got them involved in a few photos, and they thoroughly enjoyed throwing leaves at their parents (as any kid that age would).

The family’s been working on building a tiny house on their land, so we wrapped things up with a shot of Megan and Barrett standing on the foundation of their new home, overlooking the spot where their wedding reception will take place later this year.

It was such a fun session, and I can’t wait to follow along and see how the house turns out!
