Jenna + Mike’s Christmas Tree Farm Engagement Photos

Jenna and Mike’s intimate Christmas tree farm photos came about after I photographed their friend Carly’s wedding to Ven a couple of years back. Jenna and Mike absolutely loved their friend’s wedding photos, so they called me up, Jenna had Carly do her hair, and we headed out into the snow for this amazing session.

Every time I take winter engagement pictures, I think, why on earth don’t I do this more often?! It’s seriously so much fun for both me and my couples, so I was thrilled that these two were up for it. The best part was finding out that Mike’s family owned a Christmas tree farm. It truly doesn’t get more romantic than that, so we absolutely had to shoot there. It’s wonderful when we can shoot in a location that’s special to you as a couple.

Jenna and Mike brought their dog, Riley, for a few dog engagement photos at the beginning. His sloppy kisses made for some great candid photos, and he had a blast exploring all the good smells underneath the snow before we sent him off to warm up his wet paws.

We wandered around the Christmas tree farm and found a good clearing for them to practice their “drunk walk” (this always makes for some of my favorite photos!) and piggyback rides. Then we ducked into the trees and Mike broke out the champagne. Jenna and Mike had a celebratory toast in some adorable Hers and His mugs, then cozied up on some logs wrapped in the most perfect plaid blanket.

I’m so excited for their Hayloft on the Arch wedding this fall! Taking their engagement photos in snow was so much fun - I just know their wedding is going to be amazing.
