Brown Extended Family Photos - Syracuse NY Photographer

Every mom deserves pictures with her family - even when that family is fully grown and moved out. So it was wonderful to hear from Lisa last fall when she reached out wanting some updated extended family photos.

The Brown family and I go way back. I’ve been friends with Lisa’s daughter, Sam, for years, and I photographed her son Steve’s wedding to Erica in 2018. It was great catching up with everyone at Sam and Chris’ house! I might’ve been there as the photographer but they made me feel like part of the family, if only for an hour.

We started off taking some group shots with the entire family (including the dog), then broke up into couples so everyone could have some new family portraits. Sam and Chris’ yard was the epitome of fall, with apple trees and their very own pumpkin patch. The garden ended up being a great spot to photograph Lisa’s granddaughter as well.

The neighbors have horses who were curious about what was going on next door, so we included them in some of the photos. After that, we used one of Lisa’s quilts to create a cozy spot for to sit under a tree.

Extended family sessions with adult children are so much fun to photograph, and not something I get the chance to do too often. Contact me if you’re interested in a session like this for your family in the Syracuse NY area!
