Green Lakes State Park Wedding Day

Brianna and Bryce’s Green Lakes State Park Wedding Day is on the blog! These two are both runners, attended Indiana University, and got engaged at the Butterfly Gardens in Niagara Falls! Brianna’s brother was the officiant, who was stationed in Oklahoma with military travel restrictions, and so they eloped a few weeks before in Oklahoma so that he could marry them with their parents as witnesses! 

Luckily, her brother was released just before the wedding where they could renew their vows in front of family and friends! The state had closed down the building where they were set to have their reception, but that didn’t stop them! We arrived that morning to Green Lakes State Park, with a slightly pushed back ceremony because of the rain. Even with the downpour as they were having their first look and walking down to the ceremony site in front of the lake, everything was meant to be. Bryce’s grandma was the flower girl, and Brianna’s nephew was the ring bearer. Everyone was under umbrellas for the ceremony, and they even added soil and water to an orchid as the unity party of their ceremony.

Why rain on your outdoor wedding day isn’t a big deal

Typically on rainy days, there is always a few moments where the rain is lighter or ends, and if not, that’s why I recommend snagging a few clear umbrellas for the two of you and your wedding party. The rain ended right after the ceremony just in time for pictures! Wandering around with Brianna and Bryce and talking about how the rain is supposed to bring twins (or triplets), which they want, was a highlight of their day! After pictures, Bryce’s parents had us in their backyard for the reception. Between the delicious food, the dancing, and yard games set up, it was a perfect backyard reception. Their competitive sides came out as they agreed to not smash the cake, then proceeded to smash it in each other’s faces anyway. I loved their smaller wedding. Thank you for having us!
