Iman + Justin’s Waterfall Engagement Photos at Chittenango Falls

Iman and Justin found me on Zola (did you know you can search for vendors on there now? So cool!). We set up a Zoom call to get to know each other and before I knew it, we’d made plans for an engagement session. You can’t go wrong with Chittenango Falls as a location. It’s got a forest, bridges, wildflowers, and of course it’s the perfect spot if you’re craving some epic waterfall engagement photos.

We kicked things off by exploring the trails. If Iman and Justin came to the shoot nervous at all, you wouldn’t know it. They kept things light and casual, and took posing directions with ease. I love the goldenrod we came across, so we paused to grab some photos by it, which added a touch of color. We worked our way down to the bottom of the falls, chatting, snapping pictures, and of course, enjoying the view. There are some excellent flat rocks in this area that are a fun way to get people out into the water without getting wet.

Halfway through the shoot, their dog joined us on a bridge at the bottom of the falls. He was so happy to be there, and savored his moment as the center of attention for a few photos. I love his dappled coat and perky ears! He was an excellent sport, then headed off with a friend to explore the park on his own.

We trekked back up to the top of Chittenango Falls and were met with some gorgeous golden sunlight. There’s a cozy little field surrounded by tall grass and trees just across the street from the falls, which is where we ended our shoot. Between the waterfall engagement photos and the dog engagement photos, the whole day was so lovely. I can’t wait for their wedding in Utica! It’s going to be the best time.
