Crystal + Jake’s Chittenango Falls Engagement Photos

Crystal and Jake are one of those couples that’s perfectly aligned, from their interests to their personalities and beyond. With a love of dogs, weightlifting, and trying new foods, they have a lot in common. But it was their ability to easily flip from silly to sultry (and back again) for their Chittenango Falls engagement session that really made their photos special.

I met Crystal back in 2011 when we were both freshmen at Cazenovia College. She and Jake were headed back to Syracuse for one day only and reached out to have some fall engagement photos taken. I was more than happy to squeeze them into my schedule!

Before the session, they did a tasting at Glazed and Confused (one of my favorite vendors for wedding desserts!). They showed up for the shoot in the sweetest matching t-shirts, which showed off their newly-engaged status. We wandered around the upper portion of the park and took advantage of the gorgeous fall colors and the Chittenango Falls overlook.

Crystal and Jake changed into something dressier, and we got a little more adventurous, hiking down to the falls and out onto the rocks for an epic waterfall photo shoot.

As the sun was setting and the session was wrapping up, I pulled out my flash for a few final pictures on the bridge and by the water’s edge. Using flash in an outdoor setting is a great way to really make my couples pop against the background. In this case, their personalities and love popped as well!

I had so much fun catching up with Crystal and meeting Jake for some fall engagement photos at Chittenango Falls. I wish them both the very best in their marriage!
