Annie + Jake’s Traditional Wedding in Downtown Syracuse

When Annie and Jake found out about Jake’s impending deployment, they made the decision to move up their wedding. A small church wedding ceremony and a reception at Eleven Waters in downtown Syracuse was the perfect way to celebrate with their closest family and friends.

The happy couple chose Annie’s childhood church for their traditional wedding ceremony. Both of them got ready there at the church, and while they did, I was able to photograph some of their precious details. The inside of Jake’s tux jacket was lined with American flag fabric, which felt super fitting!

Before the ceremony, they opted for a first touch, which involved holding hands around one of the church doors. When it was time for Annie to walk down the aisle, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place! The ceremony was short and sweet, but the look on Annie and Jake’s faces at the end was perfection - like, “we did it!”

We took a few photos in front of the church before heading down the road a bit to a nearby park. The whole wedding party tagged along, and everyone was so much fun! We took our time taking tons of gorgeous photos of the newlyweds. The amazing light paired beautifully with Annie’s flowing dress and veil to result in some frame-worthy images of a glowing bride. Building extra time into your wedding day is so important to provide plenty of time for images like these with you and your new spouse!

The reception was in downtown Syracuse at Eleven Waters. The decor was adorable and classic, and they had a photo booth station set up for the guests. I can’t forget to mention all the delicious food! We enjoyed toasts from Jake’s brother, Annie’s sister, and Annie’s dad. It was so clear how deeply loved and cared for Annie and Jake are. They truly are the perfect pair!

After dinner, they had a quick cake cutting, then the three of us ran across the street to take some photos at the Salt City Market. They have a large heart mural on the side of their brick building, which made a great backdrop for these love-struck newlyweds. Annie pulled out her custom jean jacket for a few pictures, and it was a great way to end a perfect day.

I absolutely loved spending this special day with Annie and Jake. But it’s not over yet! They’re planning a large celebration in 2023, which I can’t wait for! Thank you for trusting me again and again as your Syracuse NY photographer!
