Hannah + Spencer's Fall Engagement Photos Mini Session

Hannah and Spencer saw that I was hosting fall mini sessions, and thought it seemed like the perfect opportunity to test-run my services. They still hadn’t decided on a wedding photographer, so this was a great chance to get to know each other with some fall engagement photos!

Once the session was booked, Hannah went ahead and scheduled her wedding makeup trial for the same day - SO smart! Of course, her makeup artist Hannah Devaney and I have history together, so I wasn’t at all surprised when she showed up and looked stunning.

Before we got started, these two had the audacity to tell me they would need help with posing. I mean, look at these photos and how totally natural they are! I barely had to tell them anything and they just exude connection and love.

We had a gorgeous morning with bright blue skies that made the colors in their fall engagement photos really pop. Their session is a great example of just how much you can do with one location. We hardly moved more than 20 feet in any given direction, and they ended up with so much variety in their images! It all comes down to having an experienced photographer who can diversify the set of images with different poses, angles, and backgrounds. I love that they brought along a blanket too. It was gifted to them by a family member, and we incorporated it into some of the shots to add a personal touch.

I had so much fun getting to know Hannah and Spencer during my fall mini sessions! I was not-so-secretly hoping they felt the same way. Luckily, they did, because they hired me to photograph their summer wedding at Sky Armory!
